WHAT IS CAPOEIRA?

Capoeira is a unique spectacular Brazilian martial art originally created by the slaves in Brazil by Portuguese colonisers. In their fight for freedom, the slaves cunningly used music and dance to disguise the practise fatal self-defence moves, which they would use to fight their captors. Today capoeira has become the one of the most famous Brazilian culture in the world and one that never ceases to amaze the audience with its agile moves, trickiness, music, and grace, as depicted in the movies “Only The Strong” and “Cat Woman”, and the PSX game TEKKEN characters Eddy Gordo and Christina Monteiro.
